Marya Fehn: I started cooking at about 12. So did both of my sons. Neither they or I had any problem with guys cooking, or starting young. We all started easy, and worked up to more complicated recipes. My youngest is a Junior in high school, and works about 25 hours a week as a cook at a local restaurant. My husband even can cook, I just like my food better than his, so I mostly do the cooking. It helps that I really LIKE to cook.
Lawanna Livsey: I started cooking very young like about 6 years old. My father was a chef in NYC, so he taught all of us kids how to cook. My oldest brother and I still love to cook. In fact I still cook from scratch everyday. I never buy cake mixes, premade food and even make my own soup, bread, and mayonaise too.
Galen Gowers: I started cooking at age 7.... simple things at first. Now I'm a fantastic cook.... but that's 50 years of practice. My dad would wake me early on Sunday mornings and teach me how to cook... roasts, pi! es, potatoes, veggies. He was an Army cook in WWII and men would come from other units to eat his cooking. I taught him how to cook Italian and Chinese foods that I learned from neighbors. We exchanged cooking tidbits till he died at age 82. My SO cooks too, so sometimes I come home to a wonderful full cooked meal. Both my nephews and their father also cook. My late husband also cooked very well....Show more
