Video games are a waste of time?

King Bringle: I like playing video games too, but I think most are a waste of time. You could use the hand eye coordination excuse. I play Rocksmith and THAT game isn't a waste of time because it does something productive. I think any game that makes you THINK a lot, like Limbo, isn't a waste either.

Whitley Leopold: video games are not a waste of time! look at what it gave us: (research it to be sure)1) a video game actually has contributed to a cure of a disease (I forgot which one)2) video games help people with logical and reasonal thinking, you know, like puzzle games (unless you look at walkthroughs)3) allows one to learn the skill of using 2 concepts at one time (thinking and using a controller)there are plenty more, you just have to find them :)...Show more

Terrell Voltz: Well, a guy looking at a woman who he knows is married, without a ring, will assume that she is open to extra relationships and you will get "hollered" at a lot. But other than th! at, I agree. I lost my wedding band, it was loose already. I didn't feel it a big deal to get another one right away, but my wife was flipping out about it, so I got a better fitting one now. But I agree with what you're saying, but its the perception thing...

Rosalia Hibler: You don't need a ring, but wearing a band might at least send the signal that you are off the market.

Joni Ziak: For me, I find more interest in video games, mostly sports-related ones.Video games in general are addictive. I think the shows I see on tv nowadays are just tedious. I can find books to spark my interests, but I lean more toward video games.Yes, I think the line of thinking is dying because you're spending your time enjoying something you like or love. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to entertainment, I'd rather play video games over watching tv anyday. I still read books just not regularly....Show more

Heidi Creselious: Lol. No. I don't care if they ha! ve fake barbie rings. It doesn't matter 2 me

Carolin Sou! thers: I love playing video games but I also play sports so I don't overdo them.

Conrad Puleio: spenser4hire....,playing video games or smoking crack?...i'll take video games all day homie.

Derrick Cacioppo: i never thought about it being so important. Yes it would be nice to have one when i get married but i wouldnt make fun of someone or think less highly of them if they didnt. I honestly think it does not have great importance as your marriage does.

Ninfa Asby: Yes....and I know a few kids who need that done

Marty Tichnell: Playing video games is probably the best way to waste time!

Dana Russian: a fun waste of time.

Melina Minneweather: Macy Gray I Try because in some parts you cant hear what words she is saying

Davida Gisriel: EVERYTHING is a waste of time.

Leisa Brodnex: Hell no. It's not going to do anything, but make your kids hate you! Plus sitting down and talking about it would probably be better just because the ki! d qould feel like the parent aactually cares for the reason they did it...and if the parent is understanding then the kid will probably not do it again....Now if only they all could do that!

Ervin Overbee: I disagree with your opinion about books, but video games are far from a waste of time. First of all, they're fun, and having fun is never a waste of time. Secondly, they've been proven to improve hand-eye coordination, as well as problem solving, reasoning, and information processing. According to the Office of Navel Research (ONR), "Video game players preform 10 percent to 20 percent higher in terms of perceptual and cognitive ability than non-game players."...Show more

Jeff Frizzell: Yes. Some kids need it and the ones who probably believe it is abuse are the ones letting there kids do whatever the hell they want and be brats... How is it abuse ? So you'd rather let a kid do whatever they want and let them talk back to you whenever they feel and let them ru! n the house ? Sorry, but somethings do NOT fly with me and that ain't o! ne of them.....Show more

Booker Moros: "Gregory" is correct

Abraham Ladick: i think that mindset is only around in 50+ year olds nowadays. almost EVERY adult has picked up controller in their life.

Bo Perham: I know kids who deserve more than a spanking.. I'm not abusive, i'm just sayin'. Back in the day you get beat and look how those kids turned out! Everybody is to sensitive now.

Norma Marsalis: No, of course not. A ring is a ring, it has a lot of meaning behind it. Doesn't matter how many diamonds are on it.

Josefine Weekey: Yes

Peter Lapoint: Nope, it's totally okay, the diamond ring is just a symbol of love, if love exists why would anybody need a ring, just a plain ring is fine to let everybody know that you're taken

Jules Ashbach: Not really but only cos mum did it to me and it really hurt

Jesse Pirieda: I think that there's a line, a quick reprimanding is totally different from flying off the handle. Kids can usually ! avoid the spanking altogether, all you have to do is be disappointed in them and hurt their feelings a little, and let them know what they did was wrong, does just as good.

Antonia Quinnett: No. Its not important. Loving eachother and being devoted to one another is. I dont have one yet either, maybe some day when we can afford it. But im not counting down the days or anything, I am a happy diamond ring-less wife.

Derrick Kloke: Question: Has anyone here actually read more than just the question title?Anyways, I do agree. Video games are becoming more and more accepted in society. There is so much more value in video games than TV and even books in some ways.

Emerita Sciandra: Neatothat'd save me about 3gs that could be put towards something productive like a house

Cassey Hollinghurst: I'm in the mood of making a lyric video, but I can't decide which song I should do! Any ideas? Please mention songs that do not already have too many videos on YouTube! , so that I might have chances to get some views! Thanks :)

Avis ! Brantner: Video games, like (some)T.V. is a form of entertainment, and as made now meant to be for fun, that is their purpose, I do not consider them a waste of time. I read all the time, and often read books several times, so i disagree with you about the book thing, but yeah, video games are pretty awesome. And more of society is agreeing.

Tyler Burkman: What the heck? Your friends are shallow, materialistic bullies. No offence but it's true. Not everybody has the money to buy $1000+ rings. For pete's sake. It's the relationship that counts, not some rock strangling your finger.

Arnoldo Budzynski: No, you crazii, well i love games :D mostly GTA san andreas :p

Lilli Kochel: yes, absolutely..

Rodrigo Pezley: Yes i do.

Frederic Engellant: If you enjoy w.e you're doing then It Isn't time wasted so I beg to differ :)

Carolynn Testani:

Raymundo Kyser: however you wish to live your life is not any of my concern. i am idle about video ga! mes

Jesse Pirieda: True, it doesn't make you more or less married but to society it's appropriate for you to wear it out to let thee who does not know you that thee is a taken woman.

Dorethea Beaston: Yes I do.

Babette Deloe: Vice City, San Andreas, Final Fantasy VII,VIII, IX, Metal Gear Solid, Spyro the Dragon they are works of art, not video games.

Claude Gloden: Honest opinions. I don't have a diamond wedding ring because we can't afford one. And frankly, I don't care for one. But some of my friends say that it's bad I don't have one. But I don't see why it's so important. Just because every other married person on the planet has one... I should have one? And besides, having or not having a ring doesn't make you any more or less married....Show more
