about photography? and cameras?

Buddy Ardd: I believe you would major with this:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/531073-REG/H...Otherwise, get one that will fit in your budget, and learn how to use it wel!

Horace Escue: That sounds great! Good luck.

Ronny Nowzari: Well, be careful about buying cameras. I wouldn't spend $150 on a Canon AE-1. I see them locally all the time for less on craigslist. The only time I see them for that much is when they come with a smorgasbord of accessories. You can find a much better deal on craigslist than just about anywhere else. When you start taking actual photography classes it is likely that you will need a film camera. Most beginning photography classes are geared toward film and the darkroom. And your instructor will prefer that you have a camera that allows for full manual control. It probably will be fine if it is an AF camera though as long as you can use it manually.Check out photography on wikipedia. It will give you lots of links where you can ! find valuable info about the techniques of photography. And just read all you can about it and get out and shoot to put it into practice....Show more

Mandy Mustaro: I suggest you look into the basics of photography. This knowledge will give you a real framework to which you can build on and excel.http://www.photoguides.net/category/beginners-guid...That's got most of the guides a beginner will need.Other than that, i recommend you get out there and practice. That's really the best way to learn about photographyGood Luck--Ash Davies...Show more

Nikki Sypult: If you want to major in photography with the camera you NEED to consult your instructor. Some will specify film, others digital. There is no camera that does both, but many film lenses will work with many digital cameras.

Tamatha Neubaum: I beg of you, start with a manual film camera, you can work into digital later, but the most important things you will learn about photography are best learned through ! film. the dark room gives you a kind of appreciation for the ! image that digital can never do. it will force you to think about your images, and to be mindful of what you are capturing. and it will help you to learn how a camera operates. you see manually the mechanics of the camera, and you learn that there are no magic things happening only predictable and repeatable actions. Plus the look of film has no comparison in the digital world. I would say go to the pawn shop down the road, spend $150 on a Canon A1 or Nikon E series film camera and get some film, and you will be well on your way to creating fantastic images. once you have mastered the mechanics of photography then you can move into digital and really expand your horizons....Show more
