what is the best laundry detergent to boost colors?

Rebbecca Sorkin: What laundry detergent are you using? For my colored clothes I use Tide and for darks ie... denim black clothing I use Woolite extra care for dark clothing. Both detergents keep my clothes true to color and they do not fade. Make sure you turn black clothes inside out and wash with cold water. Also if you hang dry this prevents fading as well... take those steps along with investing in some good detergent and you will no longer have faded clothes... :)...Show more

Sylvie Snetting: After your colors are already fading there is not much you can do. You can use an all-color bleach like Clorox 2 added to your wash and get some sparkle out of your wash, but don't expect miracles. Clothes have to be maintained properly to keep their colors intact. This means washing colors in cold water, and whites in warm/hot water using chlorine bleach.20 Mule Team Borax is another additive that will boost colors. Use as directed on the box or your washing machine.Good l! uck!...Show more

Lyman Gauld: I usually use tide color safe and cold water

An Trebil: Ammonia is something you don't want to be breathing for long periods this is unhealthy try adding White Vinegar to your wash, your clothes will come out cleaner and make your whites whiter, softer without added fabric softners, it deodorizes, removes stains, it's generally the better additive as you will notice when using vinegar, it also disinfects and vinegar can be used as a all purpose cleaner for everything around your home and out even cleans automobiles in/out and makes everything fresh also removes residues left behind from detergents that leave that detergent smell behind, you can wash your clothes first in the warmest water your clothes can stand without the use of detergent first that will remove the residues so your wash comes up cleaner and brighter than before then when you have done all your clothes this way you can then just add vinegar to your rinse water and i! t will keep them clean, whiter and fresh and very soft and sta! tic free, remember when using vinegar you will not have to use fabric softner and vinegar is less expensive than fabric softner, it is also touted as being the best dsinfectant in the world...Show more
