Benita Nancy: Prices are increasing in the current economy, but the train is a good way to get around. Generally, there are discounts available on individual tickets for early reservations or taking the slower regional trains can be cheaper, but take a lot of extra time and require chenges to go longer distances. There is a huge amount of information on taking the trains including how to determine when railpasses are cheaper than individual tickets, how to choose which railpass to buy, how to use a railpass if you do buy one and what to avoid to have the most economical trip. ! Marylee Lucks: Travelling by train is a great idea for europe. Its much more comfortable than flying and you don't have to wait for check in, plus it takes from one city centre to other city centre..All these positive sides come with a negative one of course.. "the prices" the might cost more than travelling by plane. Get an Interrail pass or Eurail pass. they will give you freedom to go where, and when you want....Show more
