Coleen Carignan: There were far more transportation options in the 1920's. Consider a person traveling from Detroit to Cleveland . In the 20's a person could buy a ticket to travel by steam ship , steam train , electric interurban train , airplane , bus , or automobile . In 2010 only car ,bus or plane are available , and these modes are essentially unchanged for at least 20 years
